Overseas Call/Talk with Mama

My youngest sister went home to be with Mama this past Christmas.  I wish I could be with Mama every Christmas!  I sent Mama some money for Christmas but  she said she will be using it to  repair the damge at the house that the typhhoon caused.  I was going to call  them  on Christmas but there was no signal there and they  also had a black out  ever since the typhoon hit.   So I waited for  them to come to  the city  before I called.
Glad to see Mama again even on pictures.  To hear her voice makes me cry, I want to hug her but I can't.  My sister said that they really miss us as well.
I wish I could convince Mama to come over here.  She is still refusing to entertain the thought of flying.  I hope we could visit the Philippines soon.  I am missing them terribly!  It's been  years since I last seen them.

Great Friend

I am so grateful for  friends like Ate Chay.  She does a lot of things for us  and even  treat my fmily like her own.  She is one of those people I admire the most because she and her husband raised their four kids really well.  Two of her older kids have graduated in college and  have  jobs and  that is something  so admirable.  I wish that I could  give Ate Chay a break and teat her  a good vacation, that would be nice.  Of all the things that she does for us, she deserve  a good break.
Thank you Ate Chay for  doing things  for my family, we love you!

Future Plan

Ifeel bad for myyoungest sister, she is hving a rought time  right now.  Her contract to the school has ended  last month so she is trying to find another job.  ON top of that, she is also bummed out that she did not pass the licensure exam for teachers.  I told her to hang in there and  just keep  thinking positive.  God always has a plan for every one of us so   she will be okay as soon as she dosn't give up pursuing her dreams.
My husband  told me that I could petition my sister here so I will look into it and seehow long will it take for me to  petition her.  I asked her to send me  some documents and I hope that she would consider it.  Maybe, I could  encourage my MOm to come over if my sister  is here with me too.

Halloween Picture

I grabbed this picture of my sister at her Facebook page.  Timing for Halloween lol. In the Philippines, some people believe that  witch exists.  I have never seen one  so I don't believe in it.  The word Aswang means witch.  On another note, my sister  was hired at the school where I worked then.  She was just a substitute to one of the  office secretaries.  Her  contract will end  on the last day of this month.  She is worried as to what her future holds.  She think  that the Dean wants her to stay but  she is not sure if it is going to be approved.  I told her to have faith and pray a lot.  I always pray that she  get employed their permanently.
I talked to her  the other day and she  is still worried  about  her employment.  She hasn't heard  if she will be hired permanently or not although she said the Dean  would love her to stay but it is up for the management to decide.  Anyway, one of the secretary's main job is to take minutes  when there are faculty meetings.  This is where her weakness lies because English is not her strong suit so she  asks me  once in a while to help her translate  minutes.  I told her that there are different ways to improve her vocabulary and reading  more often is one of them.  I also told her about the translation service that Rosetta Translation agency offers worldwide.  I know that with her salary, she won't be able to afford it but it's one of the   different options she can use in the future.  For now, I help her out when I am not busy but I told her that she can't rely on me because I am also very busy  most of the times.

The Chinese and Roman empires made a significant impact on the shaping of modern culture. These empires' influences can still be seen in the world we live in today. New Job: From Review Center to Office Job

For few months, my youngest sister Mae has been working at a Review Center.  The  salary is  low but I told her that for the meantime that she hasn't found a good opportunity, she should   stick with it so she would gain more experience.  Last month, she asked my opinion about  an o=oportunity that opened  at  our Alma Mater and  she was torn whether to  go for it or not.  I told her that it's good opportunity for her although she is just a substitute, it is always nice to  explore different possibilities.  She is now working at Divine Word College and I am very proud of her.
I am also glad that she is maturing now.  She  opens up with me and tell me  things that is going on in her life.  She also  has her own place now and I am very proud of her.   I hope that  she would get  hired permanently in school.

Update: 8/03
This morning, I was talking to her and she told me that her former boss, asked her if she could work part time.  I told her  that if she could squeeze it in her schedule to go for it.  It is always great tp have a back up plan.  Although she is hired  from Divine Word College until October, it is not permanent yet since she is only a substitute.  So glad to see her suceed and apy in lfe.

I am praying for you Nhe, luvya!

Birthday Trio in JUne

Hello everybody, this is Mae again. It's been months since my last post about Mama's birthday. I have been very busy with my work lately that I hardly have time to even chat with my Ate Chubskulit Rose. I think my body is suffering from my hectic schedule because I have been sickly lately.

But anyway, I know this is late but I would like to greet Ate a happy belated birthday through this blog post. She has been so instrumental to me ever since I was a baby. Mama said that Ate was the one who gave me the name Zilreen because she wanted me to be the last baby of the family that's why she chose the letter Z. All of my siblings' names starts with R and I am the only with Z.  Below is the  video I made  for her birthday yesterday.

High School Graduation of my Niece Bhim

It's  been 6 years when my oldest brother died in a motorcycle  crash accident.  The photo below was taken when we visited my family in the Philippines 3 months before he died.  He gave me a ride in his motorcycle.  He was a  very good driver even on the  road like seen in the photo.  They were just developing the road to our place  when this photo was taken.  I did not know that  it was the last ride me and him would share.  I miss him, he was my closest siblings of all.  Today is his 44th birthday.  He died so young leaving three daughters who were very young then.  His youngest daughter was barely a year old when he passed.  So sad and it really hurts!
Yesterday, his oldest daughter has just graduated high school.  He could have been very proud of her as he had always been when he was still alive.  My niece is a very bright  young lady.  She and her sisters was crushed when their father passed away.  Sometimes it's  hard to accept  things that happen to our lives but we have to move on and focus on the good things.  I pray that my nieces would continue to  do great in school.
Congratulations Bhim!  I'm sure your Papa is very proud of you!

Review Center

After the two-week temporary job that my sister Mae did in school, she said that she is now working at a review center. She did not elaborate the detail but hopefully, it is something good that she can keep for a longer period of time. I am praying that she would be able to find a permanent job so she won't be disappointed and result into getting married.

Techniques to be a high quality Rehab Therapist

There are many techniques that can be utilized to be a high quality rehab therapist. Understanding how to communicate with patients in a way they can understand is that central to success. Being able to be a high quality problem solver is also essential to helping people reach their goals. Having the ability to motivate people who have lost faith in themselves is also essential that are being successful in this profession.

The Problem Solving Skills

Understanding how to motivate people to solve their own problems is one of the most important things for someone in the rehabilitation industry to understand how to do. When these individuals understand their ability to make a difference through creative problem solving techniques, they will be able to learn more about the ways in which they can make the difference in the lives of their patients.

Flexibility

Understanding how to be flexible with people's belief in themselves is also an important part of helping people to recover from injury. Completely being willing to listen to patients about the challenges they are facing is a great way to gain the trust of an individual who was frustrated with their physical condition. When people feel they have a support system they are more likely to meet their own expectations.

Motivation

Keeping people motivated that can be challenging when they do not feel they are missing the progress that they want to achieve. Racing the progress of steps down into smaller more manageable experiences is essential for individuals who are trying to improve the overall quality of life.

Rebuilding a House that was Burned by the Fire

I think the worse natural disaster is fire.  With typhoon, your house may get torn into pieces but at least you can still salvage some of it...
