Jump for Joy

Hi all, let me introduce you to one of the songs that I like, "Shout for Joy" by a Filipino singer/artist, Mr. Gary Valenciano. You may listen to it while typing your comment.

I believe my sister shared this photo in one of her blogs but I would like to post it here too. This is me and my college friend whom I invited to  our  hometown.  We went to a hill and we all had fun, I call this photo "Jump for Joy".

Again, thank you for leaving your comments.  My time online is very limited but I do enjoy reading every comment.

Happily Ever After? 10 Humorous Quotes About Marriage

After frantic weeks of planning, the wedding has finally taken place and, returning from the honeymoon, the happy couple has settled down to a life of wedded bliss. At least, that’s what everyone hopes. Some couples take to married life like ducks to water. Other couples, however, take a little more time to adjust to their new situation. Often all that is needed is a little humor to make a smooth transition from single to married life, or from married life back to a single one! Below are some humorous quotes about marriage which may just have a grain of truth about them.

Quotes on love and marriage:
“If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one, go ahead, get married.” Katharine Hepburn

“I’d marry again if I found a man who had fifteen million dollars, would sign over half to me, and guarantee that he’d be dead within a year.” Bette Davis

“Marriage is a wonderful institution, but who wants to live in an institution?” Groucho Marx

Quotes on keeping your spouse happy:

“I have learned that only two things are necessary to keep one’s wife happy. First, let her think she’s having her own way. And second, let her have it.” Lyndon B. Johnson

“I love being married. It’s so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.” Rita Rudner

“When a man opens a car door for his wife, it’s either a new car or a new wife.” Prince Philip

Quotes on repenting at leisure:

“Do you know what it means to come home at night to a woman who’ll give you a little love, a little affection, a little tenderness? It means you’re in the wrong house, that’s what it means.” Henny Youngman

“Getting divorced just because you don’t love a man is almost as silly as getting married just because you do.” Zsa Zsa Gabor

“If you made a list of reasons why any couple got married and another list of the reasons for their divorce, you’d have a hell of a lot of overlapping.” Mignon McLaughlin

Finally, a word of advice on how to stay happily married:

“In every marriage more than a week old there are grounds for divorce. The trick is to find, and continue to find, grounds for marriage.” Robert Anderson

Summer Vacation

I snagged these photos  at my  sister's page in Facebook.  I believe these are her room mates and  landlady.  Seing their photos reminds me of my college days.

My sister went home to visit  our Mom during her  summer vacation.

My Sister and her Boyfriend

One of the agreement that my sister and I had is for her to finish her degree first before getting into a relationship. On her Junior year, I found out that she has a boyfriend. She got worried that I would let her stop going to school because of it but I told her that it's alright as long as it won't hinder her studies and work. I don't know what the status of their relationship is now but am glad that she did not do things that would jeopardize her future.

How to Handle Unanticipated “Plus 1” Requests for Your Party

When getting a party together, you have to be aware that anything can pop up and not go the way that you planned it. You need to be prepared for these things and know how to deal with them in a proper way. When it comes to your guests sending in requests to bring along a friend with them to your event, you might feel a little blindsided especially if it was made at the last minute. Here are a few tips on how to deal with this issue if it ever pops up.

crowded partyWhen you’re sending out the invitations to your invited guests, a good thing to do is add another line stating whether or not a “Plus 1” is going to be accepted. You have to keep in mind the number of people you want to be at the party, and if you want to keep the event exclusively to those that were invited then let your guests know in your invitation as well to avoid unnecessary requests in the long run.  If you're sending baby shower invites, you want to make sure you have enough baby-bottle cake ordered!

Chances are that not everyone you send an invitation to will be able to make it to your party, which means there are some vacancies opened up. If you had decided to not allow “Plus 1” requests when you first sent the invites out, this is a good time to consider notifying your invited guests that haven’t cancelled that they can bring an extra guest if they want to. You want to have a full party, so it’s best to let them know if any openings are available.

If you decide to allow as many guests as possible to your party, it’s probably a good idea to know how many of your guests want to bring along a friend or a family member. Set up a suitable deadline to give your guests a chance to decide who they want to bring to your party or event as well as to eliminate the problem of getting any unexpected requests on this matter.

“Plus 1” requests can be difficult to handle if you don’t know how to deal with it. Planning ahead in this regard could help make your life easier by preparing for these kinds of requests. Keeping your guests in the know about “Plus 1” requests is important in avoiding anything unexpected down the road.

Rebuilding a House that was Burned by the Fire

I think the worse natural disaster is fire.  With typhoon, your house may get torn into pieces but at least you can still salvage some of it...
