Practice Teaching

I talked to my sister   the other day and she told me that she need some money to buy her uniform for her practicum.    I have to send her  the amount  this week so she can order her uniform and be ready for her  practice teaching  course.  I hope that she can apply all the  knowledge that she has learned  for years in order to teach young minds.  This is another  important step for her teaching career.  She will be teaching at Divine Word Elementary School.
She is a bit nervous about it but I know that she can do it.  I understand how she feel though.  I am the same way, whenever I have to do something for the first time, it is always giving me  so much anxiety.

Photo Canvas for the Family Back Home

I am planning to send my family another box of things for Christmas.  I am not sure if  it is advisable for me to  send one of the photo canvases of my kids so my Mom can see them in a big print.  I was never aware  of how beautiful photo canvas is until this year when I  tried one of the companies that offered  their services for free to me in exchange of my honest review.

Home Sweet Home, One Project At A Time

Whether you only have a hundred dollars to spend on a home improvement project or thousands at your disposal, the prospect of enhancing and adding value to your home is very exciting for most people. The advice that follows will be just what you need to get improvements done.  You can make your ceilings appear higher by following two simple tips. Consider painting vertical stripes on the walls, or adding a floor lamp. This can be a good way to enhance the look of your room. This can even make your room appear bigger and more spacious than it really is.  For an economical approach to floor tiling, consider installing vinyl instead of ceramic or stone. Vinyl will last due to its durability and water resistance, and installation is easy with the adhesive backing. Vinyl flooring comes in two varieties: separate tiles for small areas and large sheets for bigger areas.

Arch Windows

When you want to enhance your standard square windows, you should consider investing in arch windows. Our Murrysville business can order any these custom features through one of our many suppliers that will bring light and beauty into any home. Whether you want to combine it with your Cranberry Township home's outward swing windows, or with its double hang windows, Energy Swing Windows Inc. can create a solution that is just right for you.
Instead of purchasing white towels for your bathroom, choose darker colors or patterns. White is a color that picks up everything and needs constant bleaching. You can choose to have your fingertip towels and washcloths to be one color and your actual bath towels to be a different color altogether. It saves a lot of trouble when washing and makes your bathroom appear a lot cleaner and put together.

Paint your walls a new color. This can be a quick way to make a huge difference in your home's appearance. Different colors can change the mood of the room and give the room a different personality. Many times a coat of paint can eliminate the need to change much else.  One of the smallest improvements to your home with the biggest impact is a deep cleaning of the house. Spending the time to clean every section of your house will improve the overall smell, look, and environment of your home. A thorough cleaning is often overlooked as a cost effective method of home improvement.

If your front lawn features a large, full tree, you can add upward-facing outdoor accent lighting to emphasize the beautiful texture of the leaves and trunk. Upward lighting is also a good choice to accentuate details like trellises or archways. Outdoor accent lighting also adds significant value to the home.  Do-it-yourself hardwood floor installation is especially tempting for homeowners who want to save money by tackling the project on their own. This is fine for most faux-wood kits but if you are using actual wood that must be sanded first, it may be best to hire a professional to handle the sanding. Real wood is quite expensive, and even the smallest sanding goof can ruin the flooring.

If you are installing new flooring, try to find one that has a heating option. This is especially beneficial for colder climates, as heating in the floor will keep your feet warm. There are many kinds of flooring that offer radiant heat options including certain hardwoods, ceramic tiles, linoleum, and bamboo.  Are the fans in your home looking a bit overworked? Why not buy new fan blades and replace the old ones, so that your home looks clean. Dirty fan blades can make your home look dirty. If you are looking for an easy way to keep your home clean, try putting in new fan blades.

Never install non-operable windows during a home improvement effort. Except for picture windows or large, exotic glazing, every standard-sized window should be capable of opening. Regardless of climate, for every home there will be times of the year and times of the day when cracking the window open is the best form of air conditioning.

It is important that you check out your potential contractor's history before you hire. Once you've got them, give them a call and ask them about the value and quality of the work. You need to also look at some of the properties yourself. Drive by and get a look before deciding who to hire.

Don't use short-term solutions for your roof. It may seem like a money saver, but in the end, and that may cost you more. You should take care of problems before they cause serious damages.

Make sure that the roofing contractor you hire is trained and skilled. You can ask family and friends for personal recommendations. This will ensure that you don't want to have a lot of money.

Insurance is something that you need to have when it comes to roof work. If damage occurs to your property and your roofer doesn't have the required insurance, you'll be the one responsible for the cost. Don't just take their word for it either; ask for proof that they have plenty of up to date, have them provide the insurance documents saying that it is comprehensive and current.

Check your roofing materials before installation.
If you think your roof has a leak, try using a garden hose to spray it down. You will then be able to see if there is really an leak and assess the damaged areas. This is more cost effective than hiring a lot cheaper and quicker than hiring a professional.

Think about using architectural shingles for a roof replacement project. They're more attractive and last longer. Ask your contractor you are considering what associations the company is a member of. The good contractors join industry groups so that they keep up with all the latest technological advances and current information. If they are not keeping up to date, you need to be wondering whether the contractor is fully dedicated to his work. Make sure to ask plenty of questions are clearly answered before letting your roofing contractor begin work. The worst thing you do is keep a question to yourself only to have a problem later on. If the contractor refuses to answer your questions, you probably do not want to work with them.

PEP Squad

I am glad that my sister was active in participating in extra curricular activities like swimming and PEP squad.  Next semester would be her last, she would be practice teaching in school  as part of the curriculum.  She is no longer a working student, last semester was her last term.

I will encourage her to review for the Teacher's Licensure exam so she could take it next year.

Seven Thousand Island

I am from the Philippines, a country with  over seven thousand islands.  The weather there is warm all through out the year so coming here in the US with four seasons,  was a big adjustment for me especially during my first year.  I literally felt like I was in the  freezer  on my very first Winter  experience.  I I could not wait till the cold months was over hahaha.  Every time cold season rolls in, I always tease my husband for us to go  to a place  with a warm weather like Aruba.  I mean , who would want to explore the beautiful  island there?  Just take a look at the photos and video  below.

If you will be given an opportunity to  explore an island, would you consider the exotic beauty of Aruba?  What do you think you would  do first, explore the cultural melting pot or visit the island's hidden gems and beaches?  Or would you explore the culinary scene first?  Share your thoughts with me through jotting it down  at the comment section.  For the meantime, you can explore the Aruba travel website and see   the virtual  tour first of what the island has to offer.

Rebuilding a House that was Burned by the Fire

I think the worse natural disaster is fire.  With typhoon, your house may get torn into pieces but at least you can still salvage some of it...
