Dalagang Pilipina

When I am feeling a little down and missing my family back home, I usually browse my sister's Facebook page and look through her pictures. It somehow relieves me from being homesick. I saw these photos and a flashback of memory immediately surge my mind. These were taken at our place. I miss the ocean, the food, the people.. Oh gosh I better stop before I cry lol.
For non-Filipino readers, if you are wondering what "Dalagang Pilipina" means, it is "Young Filipina Woman".  Teenager Girl is called Dalagita.

  5. I know what you mean Mae about memories and getting home sick. We live very far from all of our children too. I don't get to visit them as much as I would like to.

You two are so so cute and pretty in these photos. I too use to live near the ocean and I miss that too!

I know the feeling but it will pass. I hope today is better already!

  10. First time here, thanks to ABC, Mae. I like the wordplay of the name of your blog, too! Beautiful pictures, lovely family. Someday, I would like to visit and meet the Filipino people on their own turf! Know a few here and met many in Puerto Rico.

Thanks so much! Amy Barlow Liberatore (and here is a link to a funny poem) http://sharplittlepencil.com/2013/02/07/dads-dynamic-deeds/

Rebuilding a House that was Burned by the Fire

I think the worse natural disaster is fire.  With typhoon, your house may get torn into pieces but at least you can still salvage some of it...
